A year at our school
Clubs Program a Fantastic Success
Our Clubs Program has been an outstanding success! Thanks to the wonderful collaboration between the Burringbar P&C and school staff, students enjoyed four weeks of engaging, interest-based activities that allowed them to explore something they love. Students were able to choose from a diverse range of clubs, including Chess, Cooking, Drama, Art, Origami, Sewing, Dance/Japanese, and Music.
This initiative encouraged students to take ownership of their learning while trying new skills, connecting with peers, and discovering new passions.
NAIDOC Celebrations
Burringbar Public School came alive with colour, culture, and connection as we celebrated 50 years of NAIDOC. The 2025 theme, Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud, recognises the strength, resilience, and vibrancy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. Our students, our next generation of leaders, were immersed in meaningful cultural learning throughout the day.
Multicultural Day Celebrations
Multicultural Day is one of the most vibrant and joyful celebrations at our school. It’s a special day where we come together to honour the diverse cultures that make up our community. Students enjoy a rich program of food, music, dance, storytelling and traditional dress, offering a wonderful opportunity to learn about and appreciate cultures from around the world.
From tasting dishes prepared by families, to sharing songs, performing cultural dances and showcasing traditional fashion, Multicultural Day helps our students build understanding, respect and pride in the uniqueness of every culture. It’s a day filled with colour, connection and celebration,n one our school community looks forward to each year.
Year 6 Mentorship Program
Our Year 6 Mentorship Program continues to be one of the most valuable and enriching experiences we offer at Burringbar Public School. This wonderful program connects our senior students with local community members who share their skills, knowledge and passions. Whether working with artists, chefs, scientists, tradespeople or the Pottsville Men’s Shed, students are given authentic, hands-on learning opportunities that spark curiosity and build confidence.
The Mentorship Program not only supports students in discovering their interests—it also helps them develop important life skills such as communication, responsibility, teamwork and problem-solving. Most importantly, it empowers our Year 6 students to take ownership of their learning and see the many exciting possibilities ahead of them.
We are incredibly proud of this program and deeply grateful to the mentors who give their time to support our students. It truly makes a lasting difference.
