The Resilience Project at Burringbar Public School
Burringbar Public School is proud to partner with The Resilience Project as part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing.
Students across K–6 engage in planned learning experiences that support the development of positive mental health strategies, helping them to feel happier, more connected and better prepared for learning. The program is centred on the core principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy, skills that empower our students both in the classroom and beyond.
Schools play a vital role in shaping the wellbeing of young people. At Burringbar, we recognise the unique opportunity we have to positively influence not only our students, but our entire school community. By explicitly teaching wellbeing strategies, we equip our students with the understanding and tools to manage life’s challenges, build strong relationships and develop resilience. This approach supports the creation of a calm, inclusive and supportive school environment where every child can thrive.
Why Wellbeing Matters
The mental health challenges facing young people today are significant, and schools are an important part of the solution.
The Resilience Project’s School Partnership Program has been independently evaluated by leading institutions including The University of Adelaide and The University of Melbourne. These evaluations highlight that explicitly teaching resilience strategies can significantly reduce the risk of mental health challenges and help buffer the impacts of stress and adversity.
At Burringbar Public School, we are committed to fostering strong, resilient and emotionally aware young people through a whole-school approach to wellbeing, working in partnership with our families and community.
